Every Tiny Life Deserves a Chance 💜

World Prematurity Day | ICHA Day of Giving, Nov. 15.

This World Prematurity Day – ICHA Day of Giving, we celebrate the dedication of nurses like Ndini and Agnes, ICHA nurses providing specialized care to premature babies at the Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Baby Grace spent 29 days in the NICU, arriving at just 1.2 kg (2.65 lbs). With specialized care and close monitoring, Grace reached a discharge weight of 1.588 kg (3.5 lbs)—a wonderful milestone on her journey toward a healthier future.

And what better way to mark the occasion than with cake and a pink graduation gown! 🎂 Grace’s discharge day was a moment worth celebrating—a reminder that every gram gained, every milestone reached, and every baby going home to family is a reason for joy.

Grace’s story highlights the vital role skilled nurses play in caring for our smallest and most vulnerable patients. Through compassionate, clinician-led care, ICHA is helping give premature babies like Grace the opportunity to grow and thrive.

This World Prematurity Day, you can help ICHA continue supporting dedicated Tanzanian healthcare professionals like Ndini and Agnes as they care for the smallest and most vulnerable newborns.

Your gift can help provide lifesaving NICU care, strengthen clinical skills, and give more tiny lives a chance to grow and thrive.

Please consider making a donation to the Institute for Child Healthcare Africa (ICHA) today. Together, we can help more babies go home to their families—and give them the opportunity for a brighter future.
